Thursday, May 19, 2011Go To Ebay to Become An Honorary Race Car Driver
Follow this link:
Attention race fans and good people of the world!Colby is a thirteen year-old boy who was born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF)(www.cff.org). Approximately 70,000 individuals worldwide suffer from this harrowing disease. While there is currently no cure for CF, research has led to greater knowledge about this illness and more effective treatments, greatly extending the life expectancy of children born with this condition. We are devoted to doing our small part to help find a cure for this terrible illness by helping to raise money for research on this disease.
May is Raise Awareness for Cystic Fibrosis Month! So......
Colby’s uncle, Tim Marren, owns Marren Motorsports, a
Connecticut-based race car team that competes in the NASCAR-owned Grand-Am
Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series. Colby and his uncle have joined
together to raise money and awareness about this life-threatening disease.
You can bid to sponsor Colby to become an honorary race car
driver for Marren Motorsports at the 2011 Memorial Day Classic at Lime Rock
Park in Lakeville, Connecticut during the race weekend, May 27 – 28th. Marren Motorsports will be entering their #55
race car in the race.
If you are the highest bidder, you will receive a free ticket to the race, you will also be listed as an honorary driver and have your name listed on the rear windows of the Honda Civic Si race car. You will have the opportunity to meet Colby, the team, and be allowed to take pictures of yourself in the car.
This is a unique opportunity to experience the race from the driver’s perspective and learn more about the behind the scenes details of the world of professional racing. This would also be a great gift for the race fan in your life! More importantly, you would be helping a great cause.
If you are the winning bidder you must pay for your own travel expenses if you choose to attend the race.

MARREN MOTORSPORTS ‘MARREN-RED’ PORSCHE 997 ZOOMS INTO
DAYTONA 2011
Team Owner Tim Marren celebrates
25th silver anniversary return to Daytona
January 22, 2011 (Oxford,
CT USA)) You can’t miss it! You won’t miss it. It’s a ‘Marren-red’ Porsche 997
hitting the laps at Daytona Speedway on January 27th at the Continental
Tire Sports Car Challenge in the GS Class. Marren Motor Sports signature car
will be making the 3.56 mile, 12-turn speedway road course the first test for
he Porsche at this international, season-opening sporting event.
Marren Motorsports is debuting the Porsche with seasoned
drivers Joe Toussaint and Bob Beede. Tim Marren, President of Marren Motor
Sports, shares the excitement with the new season, “We’ve raced in the
Continental Tire Challenge before but only in the ST Class with our Honda. The
Porsche is another level for our team to share their expertise in the fast lane
at Daytona.”
Team owner Tim Marren is excited to return to Daytona
celebrating his 25th silver anniversary return to the track, but
this time as a team owner. “Twenty five
years later and I find myself here with my own team. To think twenty five years
ago I was a crew member for Conti Racing GTP with John Paul Jr. and Bill Adams
as drivers,” Marren exclaimed.
Marren is also entering a second car, Honda No. 55 (also
‘Marren-red’) which placed just outside the Top Ten at the season ending race
in Salt Lake City. “It is fun to have two different cars on the
track. The Honda is aero-friendly and
should perform well,” Marren added.
The Marren Motorsports team of mechanics and technicians has
been building the car and engine at Marren’s headquarters in Oxford, CT,
down the road from Lime Rock Race track.
Marren Motorsports is the pre-eminent fuel injection company
in the racing and aftermarket industry.

It marked only the team’s third outing in the series.
sessions as test sessions,” stated team owner Tim Marren. “In trying something new in qualifying, it put the car back at 20th on the grid for the start of the race. You don’t know if it’s going to work until you try it.”
Instead of basing pit strategies around refueling, Marren was more concerned about the drivers’ physical condition because of the heat. Starting the 2.5-hour race from behind the wheel, Beede worked his way up to ninth place early, passing four cars in the first couple of laps before several yellow flags slowed the pace. The younger Grahovec then took over and finished the race.
The strategy proved well for the fledging team, Marren said, and with the yellows coming out at the right time, they were in the hunt for a top-10 finish. The team and pit crew performed flawlessly with veteran car chief Frank DiCaprio.
Marren Motorsports would also like to send its congratulations to RSR Motorsports and Randy Smalley for winning at
